Ashburnham Insurance Services Limited was formed on 26th September 1995, after the managers of Rushtons Insurance brokerage took over the Southend-on-Sea branch in Essex. We would like to thank all of our staff and customers that have remained loyal to us throughout the past 25 years.
A Brief History of Ashburnham Insurance
Robert A Rushton began trading as a nationwide insurance broker back in 1947, but after the takeover, the managers Anthony Fassenfelt and John Massey decided that it was time to evolve from a simple high street broker. The new owners first had the task of naming the company. The road sign of the road running next to the office, named Ashburnham Road, gave some much need inspiration.
We then started looking toward the inclusion of commercial insurance products, and later on, online services. We continue to develop our website along with our internet trading platform which has become increasingly popular over the years and which is now a key part of the business. The local broker, face to face approach is still a part of the business but online trading has seen the company branch out to the whole world now and can now boast customers as far away as Australia.
Decades of Experience in Insurance
Times have changed dramatically since the early days of being a high street insurance broker to what we are today. Ashburnham Insurance has since been able to grow and thrive, with decades of experience in insurance that has enabled us to stay at the forefront of the industry whilst still remaining true to our local roots.
Even after all these years, we still have our doors open to the public. Many of our local customers, and even some from further afield, often pop into the office to discuss their insurance needs in person. We find that this personal touch separates us from the rest, and an ever-increasing interest from customers and insurance companies in our work has made us one of the UK’s specialists in providing landlord insurance and business insurance.
In recent years, we have also managed to start-up our own scheme for landowners insurance, specialising in residents associations, road owners and general landowners. Ashburnham Insurance is now one of the leading providers for this type of insurance in the UK. It doesn’t matter whether you are a single person, group, community or business, we are able to help all types of landowners.
